I work mostly in pens and irony, generally on small sizes of cardboard that have been wrapped in masking tape.
My illustrations are sardonic, as I am attracted to dark humor and ambiguity. I collect the meanings that the people discover in my pictures. Every person discerns a different meaning...the people are brilliant.
Emanuele Simonelli was born in 1974 in Rome, Italy. The artist studied illustration at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome and Decoration at the Fine Art Academy in Rome. For four years during that time he worked as web-designer of his own company in Rome. A number of gallery have exhibited his work, including Art : Raw Gallery in Chelsea and the PowerHouse Arena in Dumbo. Currently he works as a storyboard artist in New York City.
